Charting a New Blueprint for the Eurasian Green Energy Corridor - Zhu Gongshan Leads Delegation to Kazakhstan
The ancient camel caravan routes echo with new vitality today. As the birthplace of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" initiative, Kazakhstan, with its strategic location bridging Asia and Europe, has become a shining pearl on the map of the Belt and Road Initiative. At the invitation of relevant Kazakh parties, Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of GCL Group, led a delegation to the country's capital, Astana, and its economic hub, Almaty, from May 14 to 16 (local time) for high-level visits. During the visit, Zhu Gongshan and his team held thematic meetings with key officials, including Dauren Abayevich Abayev, Chief of the Presidential Office of Kazakhstan, and Rustam Akhatovich Bayaliyev, Director of the Regional Development Monitoring Department. Both sides focused on cutting-edge areas such as energy integration, green and low-carbon technology promotion, and the planning of digital zero-carbon industrial parks, reaching a series of high-level strategic agreements. Leveraging its globally leading green energy management expertise and advanced technological capabilities, GCL will deeply embed itself in Kazakhstan's energy transition, driving a comprehensive upgrade of the traditional energy structure toward cleaner, low-carbon, and intelligent solutions, while fostering the vigorous growth of a circular economy. The Kazakh side expressed its commitment to providing full policy support and green channels, strengthening resource allocation systems, and ensuring solid guarantees for the early implementation of projects.
As a key move in energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, GCL's visit deepened strategic alignment through market-oriented, professional, and international approaches. During their stay, GCL Group reached agreements with the Kazakhstan offices of PowerChina, ICBC, and local industry leaders such as Baiterek National Holding Company on project construction, green financial innovation, and supply chain financial cooperation, securing funding and management support for overseas projects. Zhu Gongshan stated that GCL would leverage its integrated "power + computing" technological advantages to actively participate in Kazakhstan's energy transformation, promoting full industrial chain collaboration between China and Kazakhstan in photovoltaics, clean energy, and digital technology, thereby injecting new momentum into regional energy security and low-carbon transition.
