GCL New Energy Aims High for 2015 After Connecting 615.5 MW in 2014
GCL New Energy has announced, as of 31 December 2014, the company has connected 615.5 MW of power to the grid. As of January 27, 2015, the new installed capacity of 2015 is 52 MW, lifting the total capacity of the company to 667.5 MW to the grid. In addition, the company is also involved in projects under construction that will contribute a total capacity of 541 MW.
Based on its plan, GCL New Energy will install 2 GW of power in 2015. By the end of 2015, the company will have installed a total capacity of approximately 2,600 MW. The annual target capacities for 2016 and 2017 are 2.5 GW and 3 GW, respectively.
In order to cater to the demands of the newly installed projects, the company will continue to invest in large ground power station projects while it considers other areas of growth, such as distributed power generation.
GCL New Energy is able to fund its projects through diverse financing channels, including project loans, short term loans, financial leasing and overseas financing.
The company has also established a fund management company and collaborated with other financial institutions with the view of creating domestic and foreign fund companies to accelerate its growth.
